I get why Provorov is taking a long time but I don’t get why TK is. Let’s get this stuff done. I know there is worry about being the first to sign but all 3 are going to be in the same ballpark. How about we be the trend setter, show our players we aren’t going to quibble too much and let Columbus and Boston get in pissing matches with their players comparing them to Provorov and his deal.

Then the team can rest easy with an idea of what they are going into next year.

Depends on whether McAvoy and Werenski remain unsigned beyond Labor Day.

That Flyers team under Terry Murray, when they had the lead in the 3rd period, the game was basically over. I haven't seen a Flyers team able to clamp it down like that team did since.

Agreed. And I never saw a team more dominant on faceoffs.

That team should have won some cups.

This is where I've been the entire time. And I lean towards the higher amount for both players.

At least that will give is a couple million of cap room.

Just read in your Flyers site, Vigneault's comment on defensive 'errors'.

"In most of Vigneault's preferred systems, the old-school method of clearing the zone -- going around the boards or chipping pucks off the glass -- is discouraged except as a last resort to relieve pressure. Clean breakouts with possession have been a major area of emphasis."

The trade of Gudas is far more sensible in light of this statement.

Yeah. That was Gudas’ first pass option was chipping it high and off the glass when there was any sort of pressure.

Gudas was okay. He had a decent last year when he was guarded. Just is harder on everybody else when you have to hide him so much. Liked his physicality when he played discipline.

Happy with the look on paper with the new D though.

Gudas had a solid year but he led the league in icings. If that were a thing.

Much of Gudas's game is favored by me. Of course, I'm old and have fond memories of teams that would have thought Gudas wasn't fighting enough.
Old, I tell you.
Now over the past five years I've gained an appreciation of 'speed and skill' throughout the lineup. You may never have a Bobby Orr equivalent but any emulation is worthwhile especially as D-dudes shrink. The big guys still can dominate due to wingspan, long sticks and blocking but they gotta be able to move to the right spots.
Otherwise the sprites do the 'practice with pylons' thing and you never land a hit.

This. He won the Barry Ashbee Trophy because Ghost and Provy sucked, although it SHOULD HAVE gone to Sanheim. He played well against 3rd/4th lines, got lit up against better competition.

I liked him, but loved the Niskanen trade.

I pretty much agree with this. Ive said TK < 5. Provorov < 7 from the beginning and I’m sticking with it. Term of course can be a factor.

No way in Hell I'm giving Provorov a long term deal worth 6, 7 or more million per. He stunk last year, thats a fact . He's had one good year and one bad year so who knows who the real Provorov is right now. 1 or 2 year deal works for me

At that salary, I expect Provy to go bridge.
Not sure on TK though. If he's toward the higher amount, long term?

I think Provy ends up with a bridge. There will be too much of a gap between his agent and the team to get a long term deal done. My guess is 3 years:
19-20 4.5 million
20-21 5.25 million
21-22 6.25 million
aav: 5.333 million

With TK, they might be able to get a long term deal done. Perhaps something like 6 years, 31.5 million, aav 5.3 million

Or not, who knows?

Offer provorov same contract as trouba ifit is in his asking price. But what I gather gandler is likely asking 10 until the other two sign

I think it more likely that Gandler is asking for 8 per.

I cannot speak to the likelihood of MrPerfect316 being or not being on crack.
